Dog the BOUNTY HUNTER

This is an image that I am doing in the support of keeping these three men out of prison. For those of you who don't know these three real life bounty hunters captured convicted rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster (convivted of 80+ counts of rape) when authorities couldn't or wouldn't. Now the Mexican government wants Dog, Tim, and Leland extradited back to face charges of illegal bounty hunting, even though Dog was working with Mexican authorities to capture Luster. Dog, Tim, and Leland face a possible sentence of several years in a Mexican prison.
It doesn't seem right that these three bounty hunters did the right thing by capturing a monster and now might loose there lives in a Mexican prision. Go to www.dogthebountyhunter.com and sign the petition to save there lives.

I saw that Brian Baumgartner (Kevin from "The Office") is a big fan of art, especially fan art. So I decided to do a quick portrait of him. This is the sketch to that portrait. He has this deal with fan that if you send him an autographed picture he will send one back. So I am going to send him an autographed copy of this portrait and see what kind of a response I get to my work. I am a GENIUS!

VISA "Breakthrough" campaign

I did these drawing for a company called Arc Worldwide in San Francisco. They had a project that needed a sketch/layout artist and they gave the job to me. VISA was doing a new campaign for small business credit cards called "Breakthrough". I was told that I was to draw two scenarios. They had chosen a female chef and a male contractor. I was told what type of scenes they wanted for each scenario. An example would be contractor at his desk, a chef cooking, etc. The description was very open. I was not given any reference and was asked to do these quickly. The art director loved the sketches. He especially loved the detail and attention put into the backgrounds.
The drawings were then shown to VISA and they loved them as well. I was offered the job of flushing out more scenarios but I had to decline. I accepted a full time job as Head of Marketing at Fireclay Tile.

This is a logo that I designed for a start-up company that was kind of like a Jenny Craig type of place. I made the logo in about 30 different colors so that the could merchandise it any way that they wanted. They were very pleased.

U.S. Government VS Blackwell

While in college I landed a job as a courtroom sketch artist for 10TV NEWS in Columbus Ohio. This is one of the cases that I covered. These images were done onsite in the courtroom during opening statements. I only had about 2 hours and I complete 7 paintings. These 4 were used on the 5, 6, and 11 o'clock news. This is an image of Roger Blackwell himself. He was caught (along with many friends and family members) and charged with insider trading that resulted in millions of dollars gained illegally.
This is an image of the government's prosecutor. I sat right behind him during opening statements. This is an image I did of Roger Blackwell's defense attorney during opening statements.
This is Roger Blackwell's ex-wife, who testified against him in return for all charges against her and her parents to be dropped.

Charcoal Study

This was a figure study that I did from a live model in charcoal. This is the piece of mine that gets the most attention in my portfolio when I show it around. It is a beautiful example of what I can do quickly. This drawing took less than an hour to do and I have to say that it is one of my favorites. Sadly when I packed up and moved to California from Ohio it got damaged beyond repair. I now take care of all of my of work.

This is the inside to a Jazz Album that I was asked to do. Above is the line drawing and layout that I did. That is all that I was asked to do. Travis at Travlyrics Graphics did the final rendering based on my layout. Here is what the final inside cover turned out to look like. Usually I don't like to do a layout and have someone else alter my image, but I am pleased with how the final rendering turned out.

This portrait was done at the request of a local DJ. At first this painting looks clean and simple, like it should have been a quick turn around. WRONG. Painting smooth circles and other geometric shapes is a tedious and time consuming task.

Portrait for Christmas

This was a portrait commission that I got right before Christmas. I was contacted by a guy to do a portrait of his grandparents to be given as a gift. The photo that was given to me was of there first date! The couple has been married for more than 50 years and still going strong! I was told that they loved the portrait very much. I am happy that I could do his for them. Every portrait has a story.
